Cheltenham High School History
The orginal High School located on Ashbourne Road.
Is now the Cheltenham Art Center.
The High School located on Union Avenue in Elkins Park
After the 1928 high school opened this became the industrial
arts building then around 1953 was used as a maintenance
facility by the school board.
This was the High School at the time of this photo 1906 to 1927.
Notice you don't see the other building or the Gym to the rear of
this building. Later became Elkins Park Junior High School then
around 1955 became the school administration offices.
Cheltenham High School 1928 TO 1957
Became Ogontz Junior High for a few years.

The first alarm was sounded at 4:30 AM on January 11, 1994
firemen fought the blaze for days.
The gutted remains of the building await the wrecking ball.
